Patent Pending adapter matches the contour of the OEM roof so the Maxxair Dome mounts to a flat surface. Prevents distorting the roof sheet metal or vent flange and can be used as an aid for locating the fan. They are CNC machined out of UV and fire resistant expanded PVC. The fan mounts to the outside adapter. The adapter ID is 7" and the OD is 10.5"
If an offset is ordered we will reach out for a measurement.

The framing strips are expanded PVC and bonded to the interior roof with a thick bead of Windo weld. They are more flexible than wood and plenty strong to support the AC and keep it from jiggling. They are essential if the span between the OEM roof beams is more than 18".

We recommend Sikaflex 221. Locate and cut the 14 x 14 hole. You can use the adapter as a guide to mark the hole. Stay clear of roof support beams.
Make a tape line 1/4" beyond the adapter perimeter.
De-gloss the area with a Scotch-brite pad. No need to scuff, just dull the paint. Clean with isopropyl alcohol and let dry thoroughly. Blow dryer if it's wet and/or cold out.
Apply three 1/8" beads of the Sikaflex on the face of the adapter. Then, press the adapter down onto the roof until the adhesive oozes out the sides. It's not necessary to clamp. If you do, use several lightly set clamps and spread out the clamp force over the whole surface area.
Using the adhesive that oozes out, make a fillet around the adapter with a double gloved finger. Pull the tape within 15 minutes. Cure is fast on outside. Let cure overnight and then proceed with the fan install.
If you purchased our Interior Framing Strips, using the hole that you cut locate where the transverse strips need to be placed on the longitudinal strips. Assemble the interior frame with the 2" screws provided. Once the frame is assembled it will be glued to the interior side of the roof using Sikaflex 221. If the strips ordered are not bay specific, then you may need to cut them to the length of the panel you are installing it in.
We recommend using butyl tape for the fan install. Cover the fan flange with 1" wide tape. Place the flange onto the adapter and press down. Then drill pilot holes through the adapter and into the van roof. You may need the 4 longer screws provided for the corners. Tighten all screws very lightly against the fan flange. Some butyl will ooze out which you can trim off.
Coat the fan flange, adapter and onto the roof about 1/2" with self-leveling Dicor or brush-on Flexseal. Some sealants will melt the fan plastic so you might try it on a portion of the interior bezel first. You will cut a lot of that piece off.
Good idea to check the integrity and reapply the sealant every so often.
**Please note, if you purchased butyl tape with this order and the butyl tape is stuck to the plastic, place it in the freezer for 15 or 20 min. It will release, then let it return to room temperature.
The option with butyl tape includes 64" of butyl tape.

These fit in the outer rounded positions. They will not work in the inner straight positions, see other listing. (These are not compatible with the NCV3 Sprinter) 3D printed in tough nylon plastic.
Use of a relay to carry larger loads is recommended. Not all switches have the same load (Amp) capacity. Refer to drop down list for current ratings.
SPST (single pole single throw) is simple on/off switch (most common)SPDT (single pole double throw) is on/on switch which can also be used as on/off. These can also be used for 2-way control with another SPDT.DPDT and DPST (double pole) are essentially two switches tied together and actuated simultaneously. One side can be used as simple on/off switches (same as SPDT or SPST) or to switch both negative and positive at the same time. Also wired as reversing (polarity reversing) switches.SPDT with center off means the there is a middle position that is not connected to either output Lighted switches means the light comes on when the load is energized. Refer to photos for proper connections. These will need a ground connection for the light to work.
A quantity of one equals one adapter and one switch.

***Prewired Bezel plate or prewired seperate control plate comes with the speed controller w/ reversing switch, do not order it separately. The purchase of the prewired bezel will require a purchase of the LeMans fan with the louvers. We will wire it for you! There is a photo showing what the final product looks like.
Interior closure can be either manually or electrically closed. These vents are different from typical RV vents in that the air closure is on inside. Unique design of fan surround and cowl keeps moisture out. Interior closure is 11.41" diameter and 3/4" thick.
These vents do not include a plenum to bridge the gap (space) between inside of roof and top of ceiling panel. AC foam seal can be used to do this.

Weight is 4lbs 7oz.
We produce patent pending mounting adapters to fit contour of van roof. They are not included unless you select it "with adapter". Please make note of van make, year and model in notes at purchase. We will contact you to verify position. We highly recommend using our adapter to mount this vent.

AC Adapter Install procedure: We recommend Sikaflex 221 or 3m Window-weld adhesive. Locate and cut the hole. You can use the adapter as a guide to mark the hole. Stay clear of roof supports, obviously. Make a tape line 1/4" beyond the adapter perimeter. De-gloss the area with a Scotch- brite pad. No need to scuff. Just dull the paint. Clean with isopropyl alcohol and let dry thoroughly. Blow dryer if it's wet and/or cold out. Apply a good amount of the Window-weld on the face of the adapter. Then press the adapter down onto the roof until the adhesive oozes out the sides. It's not necessary to clamp. If you do, use a lot of lightly set clamps and spread out the clamp force over the whole surface area. Using the adhesive that oozes out, make a fillet around the adapter with a double gloved finger. Pull the tape within 15 minutes. Cure is fast on outside. Let cure overnight and then proceed with the AC install per the AC instruction. Seal the adapter and onto the roof about 1/2" with brush on bed-liner or Flexseal from the TV guy works well. Good idea to check the integrity and reapply the sealant every so often. Dicor self leveling sealant also works but looks a little messy.
